In Memory of our Founders - Folly Wildlife Rescue
From starting the rescue at home in 1987 with just a single hedgehog, to moving to Folly Cottage in 1993 where Folly Wildlife Rescue was truly born, our founder Annette’s passion and determination were unwavering. Alongside her husband Dave, she worked tirelessly to fundraise, grow the charity, and eventually open the Broadwater Forest Wildlife Hospital in 2012.
Annette and Dave were a united driving force behind Folly. Annette was very much the face of the charity, while Dave worked behind the scenes, designing the hospital and specialist cages. Together, they shared a wealth of knowledge and experience that is still deeply missed today.
Annette spoke about her hopes for the future of Folly — to build the charity up and secure it, so that one day, when they were no longer able to do the work themselves, it would be safe and able to continue. Remembering this and seeing how far our charity has come, is truly incredible.
If you are able to support Folly Wildlife Rescue in memory of Annette and Dave, you are helping us continue that vision — ensuring Folly remains strong, secure, and here for the wildlife that needs us most.
